BONElike Child's Vertebral Column Model
A true-to-life replica of the vertebral column of a child of about five years old, of particular interest for anatomy, paediatrics, orthopaedics and paediatric radiology. Made from 3B BONElike, it is almost indistinguishable from a real spine; the flexible column with occipital plate, pelvis and sacrococcyx is mounted on a stand, and the spinal cord with cauda equina and exiting nerve roots is reproduced in flexible material within the spinal canal. The model clearly shows the phases of bone growth — the still incomplete development of the vertebral bodies and arches, the as-yet unfused sacral vertebrae, and the open Y-cartilage of the acetabulum with the hip, pubic and ischial bones not yet joined (held with brackets in the model).
