Coil Spring, 3 m

This wide, long coil spring is especially suited to demonstrations, as its movements can be seen clearly by the whole class. It is 3 m long and 20 mm in diameter and can be stretched to over 20 m without permanent deformation. In physics lessons it can be used to demonstrate pulse propagation, transverse waves and standing waves, giving pupils a visual and tangible experience of wave phenomena that are otherwise hard to grasp. It is ideal for class experiments in which the motion can be followed from a distance and several pupils can be actively involved in the setup.
