Compass, Student Model

A classic compass with a 360° scale and a built-in ruler, easy to use both in the classroom and in the field. This affordable student model suits exercises for learning basic navigation and compass use: in physics it helps demonstrate the Earth's magnetic field and introduce magnetic poles and field lines, while pupils orient it relative to magnetic sources or investigate deviations in the field. In science and technology it supports map reading and following a simple route; for more demanding orienteering, a specialist compass such as the Silva models is recommended.
