e/m Tube, Teltron, Type D

This demonstration tube shows the electric and magnetic deflection of electrons. The capacitor plates sit outside the fluorescent screen, giving a large deflection area and a clear parabola under electric deflection, while magnetic deflection can be shown using Helmholtz coils (available separately); the tube is mounted in its dedicated holder. It is used when teaching the motion of charged particles in E and B fields to demonstrate electric deflection (a parabola), magnetic deflection (a circular path) and the superposition of the two fields, and it suits both board demonstrations and shorter pupil experiments.
