Experiment Set “Conduction of Impulses in Nerve Fibres”

This model-experiment set simulates continuous conduction in non-myelinated axons, saltatory conduction, and information transmission by neurotransmitters. The experiments use the reversible passivation and reactivation of an iron rod in acidic solution. The set includes an acrylic trough, three iron rods, zinc electrode, 15 insulating sleeves and sandpaper; hydrogen peroxide, sulphuric acid and sodium chloride solution are required but not included.
