Franck–Hertz Experiment Power Supply (230 V, 50/60 Hz)
This power supply is designed for use with the Franck–Hertz experiment apparatus, model 507000. It delivers the adjustable voltages needed for the different parts of the setup, including the filament, control and accelerating voltages, and the manual adjustment of curve shape and counter-voltage gives flexibility in configuring the experiment; safety plugs and a BNC input make connection easy and safe. The Franck–Hertz experiment is central to teaching quantum mechanics and atomic physics at upper-secondary level, demonstrating the quantised energy levels of atoms. By adjusting the various voltages, pupils can observe and analyse the inelastic collisions of electrons with mercury vapour, which result in the emission of photons at specific energies. Weight 3.4 kg; dimensions (l x w x h) 210 x 160 x 132 mm; 230 V.
