Hoffmann apparatus

A classic Hoffmann apparatus for the electrolysis of water, comprising two graduated glass tubes fitted with a stopcock and a central glass tube with a levelling tube. Each measuring limb holds 50 ml, and the assembly stands approximately 560 mm tall. It lets students split water into hydrogen and oxygen and read off the gas volumes in a clear demonstration of electrolysis.
