Human Femoral Fracture and Hip Osteoarthritis Model

This model shows the right hip joint of an elderly person at half natural size and was developed to give patients clear, understandable information, for example before surgery. A frontal section through the femoral neck is presented in relief on the base, and the model illustrates the femoral fractures most common in practice — medial and lateral femoral neck fracture, pertrochanteric and subtrochanteric fracture, femoral shaft and femoral head fracture, and fracture or avulsion of the greater and lesser trochanter — together with typical degenerative changes of hip osteoarthritis (coxarthrosis).
