Leakage current clamp meter, 2/80 A AC/DC, 1 mA resolution, P 1635

The P 1635 is a practical leakage current clamp for measuring small DC and AC currents up to 2 A with 1 mA resolution.

It measures the current indirectly via the surrounding magnetic field: the measurement is contactless when the clamp jaws enclose the current-carrying conductor (single wire).

Since the incoming and outgoing currents cancel each other's magnetic fields, enclosing all the conductors of a line measures the leakage current.

In the automotive sector, it is well suited to recording car battery discharge currents with the ignition switched off, so that faults can be traced quickly and reliably.

Besides small currents, the P 1635 also measures larger DC and AC currents up to 80 A with 0.1 A resolution, making it suitable for hobby, trade and industrial use.
