Monochord

A monochord for investigating the vibration of strings and the relationship between pitch and a string's length, tension and thickness. The wooden resonance case has a fixed bridge at each end and two movable bridges, two strings (e′ and g′) with tuning pegs, and a pulley that redirects a string so its tension can be varied with hooked weights. A 600 mm scale runs lengthwise; overall dimensions are 700 x 90 x 65 mm.
