Rubens' Tube

Rubens' tube visualises standing sound waves as flame patterns along a perforated metal tube. A tone generator drives a membrane loudspeaker at one end while gas is supplied at the other, making pressure nodes and antinodes visible. It is suitable for demonstrations of frequency, wavelength, resonance and harmonics.
