Spring Set, 5 Different, with Loops

This set consists of five coil springs with loops, well suited to Hooke's law experiments and other investigations of the relationship between force and extension. The springs vary in spring constant, diameter, mass and load capacity, which allows comparative experiments and broad use in teaching: spring constants of 50, 36, 22, 13 and 2 N/m, with maximum loads of 20, 15, 9, 4 and 1 N respectively and a maximum extension of 400 mm. In physics lessons they can be used to investigate proportional relationships, elasticity and harmonic oscillation — determining spring constants, plotting force against extension and studying energy transfer in oscillating systems.
