Voltaic Pile

The Voltaic pile is a modern plexiglass version of Alessandro Volta's 1800 galvanic battery. It consists of stacked cells with zinc and copper discs separated by electrolyte-moistened porous separators, demonstrating the conversion of chemical energy into electrical energy.
