Wimshurst Machine “Eco”

Wimshurst machine for generating very high DC voltages. Two counter-rotating acrylic discs with metal sectors generate separate charges stored in Leyden jars; an arc discharge occurs between adjustable spherical electrodes when the charge is sufficient. Voltage reaches 160 kV and spark length up to 70 mm, depending on ambient conditions.
