Digital RCD tester, P 2710
The P 2710 is a residual current device (RCD) tester for determining the tripping current and tripping time of residual current circuit breakers, which current building regulations require in every new building. RCDs protect people by switching off a circuit when they register a residual current flowing away through the protective earth (PE).
An RCD tester lets a fault current flow and so determines the fault current at which the RCD trips; the tripping time is measured as well. These two parameters, tripping current and tripping time, are the safety-relevant parameters of an RCD.
With its selectable test currents and characteristics, the P 2710 is suited to everyday work by electricians.
